Open Data FAQ

How can I access an Open Data feed?

Our Activity Finder feeds can be found at https://www.sportsuite.co.uk/openactive. Our data is formatted as an RPDE feed, and our Activity Finder data is using the OpenActive Opportunity Model.

All of our other feeds are available from a centralised location at https://www.sportsuite.co.uk/opendata After filling out the form, you will be sent an email with your unique access key. Keys are only valid for a particular feed - if you would like data from another feed you will need a second key.

What are SportSuite National Activities in the Open Data API feed choices?

Most activities in the Activity Finder are 'local' to a specific client area i.e. a football session or Zumba class. However very occasionally a client may add their activity as a 'National' session - these are the activities that will appear in the SportSuite National Activities feed.

What can I use Open Data feeds for?

Our Activity Finder feeds are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

All of our other feeds are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License, meaning that they can be freely distributed and repurposed in any form provided the resultant work is not a commercial work - and that the work continues to be licensed under a compatible license.

What is an Open Active API?

Our OpenActive API data feeds are available for developers who wish to use activity finder data outside of SportSuite. This is motivated by the Open Data Institute and the OpenActive initiative.

What Open Data feeds are available for SportSuite?

All of our clients who have purchased our "Activity Finder" module have a corresponding OpenActive data feed. We will be releasing feeds for more of the SportSuite modules in the future.
